The UNB Student Advocate is very knowledgeable of university academic regulations, and is skilled in working with students to help them address various academic issues. The Student Advocate provides specific assistance with the following issues:
Academic appeals – Formal appeals of failed courses or unsatisfactory overall academic standing in cases where the student has valid medical or compassionate reasons for appealing, as well as defense of reports of academic offences such as plagiarism, cheating, and falsifying records.
Grade reviews – Applications to formally review a grade which the student finds unfair.
Missed classes – Assistance to students who have a valid and documented medical or compassionate reason for being absent from classes; the Student Advocate will notify professors of student absence in such special situations.
