Meet Arafat, Vice President of Finance & Operations for the 2026–2027 year!

Originally from Hyderabad, India, Arafat was born and raised in Saudi Arabia before moving to Canada to attend UNB. Growing up in different cultures and environments helped shape his passion for community, leadership, and building meaningful connections with people from diverse backgrounds. Since arriving at UNB, he has been heavily involved in student life through leadership positions, creative initiatives, and campus engagement opportunities focused on improving the student experience.

Currently pursuing a BBA with an Honours in Accounting, along with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Economics, Arafat has developed experience in finance, operations, communications, and branding through his work within the student community. Prior to serving as VP Finance & Operations, he served as Director of Communications for the UNB Student Union, where he worked on projects involving digital engagement, organizational branding, student outreach, and large-scale campaigns across multiple platforms.

As VP Finance & Operations, Arafat is excited to help strengthen the operational and financial foundation of the UNB Student Union while continuing to support initiatives that positively impact students across campus. Passionate about collaboration, engagement, and student-focused leadership, he looks forward to working alongside students, clubs and societies, and external partners to help create a stronger and more connected student community at UNB.
