Food Bank
To ensure that students at the University of New Brunswick have access to healthy, nutritious food at zero cost.
What is the Food Bank?
The UNBSU Campus Food Bank is dedicated to supporting the UNB community and working collectively to attain greater food security for students. In collaboration with Greener Village, the Food Bank is committed to providing UNB undergraduate/part-time students with a range of food items, including non-perishable goods, and perishable food items.
Where is it located?
The Food Bank is located in room 126 of the Student Union building in the hallway up the stairs above the Student Union (near the radio station)
What are the hours?
The food bank operates on an appointment basis only. To set up a time to access the food bank please complete a food bank intake form and a time to access the food bank will be assigned to you through email!
How can I access the food bank?
After all forms are filled out and reviewed (User Agreement Forms and the Registration Forms below) patrons will receive an identification number and a designated pick-up date and time.
Patrons will arrive at the food bank at their designated pick-up time and present their identification number to the volunteer or staff member present.
With the help of a staff member or volunteer, patrons will select their items based on the amounts permitted. Permitted amounts may be posted in the food bank; staff and volunteers will also know how much is permitted and be able to advise.
Patrons will then present the items to the food bank staff or volunteers to be recorded on the UNBSU Food Bank Usage Sheet.
Patrons leave the food bank and are able to return during the next month.
A returning patron UNBSU Food Bank registration form will need to be completed each returning month.
Note: A contactless pickup option is also available. All forms are still required regardless of pickup method.
