For this election, we asked the candidates to send us some information about them so that you can make an informed decision when voting in the upcoming election! Here are the candidates that got back to us:

Nursing Councillor

Maher-Watson, Zinnia 

My name is Zinnia Maher-Watson. I am an 18-year-old, non-binary candidate for the nursing councillor position. I am a responsible and capable candidate who enjoys hiking, spending time with my family, and volunteering. I deserve your vote because I am experienced in leadership through my two years as Senior Chair of the Fredericton High School Emergency Response Team, and my time as the Production Manager of the FHS 2024/25 production of The Music Man.

Campaign Goals:

My campaign goals are to increase events for the Faculty of Nursing, and to create fun events that students are interested in; to participate thoroughly in SU meetings, ensuring that the FoN is busy and relevant; and to develop my leadership skills, so I can make the FoN proud.

Vest, Marsha

Hi, I’m Marsha Vest! I'm a 2nd-year Nursing student passionate about advocacy, teamwork, and making student life more connected and supportive. I care deeply about creating a positive space where every voice is heard and valued. Outside of nursing,  you'll usually see me having a coffee break and studying in the SUB. I’m excited to represent and support my peers as your Nursing Councillor.

 Campaign Goals:

  1. Strengthening communication between faculty and students

  2. Promote mental health support for nursing students

  3. Create more opportunities for student connection
