Hello everyone! My name is Monica Boutot and I am beginning my 3rd year of business administration with a double concentration in Accounting and Marketing with a minor in English. I was born and raised in Edmundston, NB, which is very small compared to Fredericton. During my time in high school, I was a Boomerang leader for my senior year. To say in simple words, I introduced 9th graders to high school during their first week. I was also part of this group called “CDJeunes Bénévoles”. It's a leadership class where we volunteer and help out our community for pretty much anything. Since I had experience with a high school orientation, my goal coming here was to get experience at a university orientation. Let’s just say I’m on the right track.

Fredericton is a very beautiful city that I'm happy to call home. It's a very nice community and I am excited to show you who we are. As your Orientation Chair this year, I am very excited to meet and see all of you, but until then, enjoy your summer, and we'll see each other soon!!

Arnab Taranga

Hello, my name is Arnab Taranga (he/him), and I am going into my 3rd year of a B.A with a major in Sociology with an Honours degree and a minor in Criminology. I am an international student from Bangladesh, and I proudly consider Fredericton my home away from home. My interests are in policy and politics and I’m passionate about advocacy for minority rights and social justice. In my time at UNB, I have worked with the International Student Advisor's Office (ISAO) as a student coordinator and created the Heart To Heart program in partnership with the Mi'kmaq-Wolastogey Centre (MWC) with an aim to increase indigenous awareness on the UNB campus and in the wider New Brunswick community.

I have also been elected as the UNBSU Inclusion Representative for the upcoming 2023-2024 academic year. I am also active in my own Faculty and in the UNB Community. As the UNBSU Fundraising Chair and Orientation Vice-Chair this year, I am looking forward to meeting all the incoming students this upcoming Fall of 2023. I aim to plan an inclusive, diverse and exciting UNBSU Orientation for everyone to participate and enjoy! It's time to Explore The Hill!
