Seshu is a fourth year student in Biology-Physics and Philosophy here at UNB. He was born in Fredericton, and went to high school here. At UNB he's gotten involved with the Townhouse Glee Choir and UNB Hemlock Club, and in his spare time he enjoys playing guitar, singing and reading. Seshu is a firm believer that dialogue and discourse are the most important things: this is a fancy way to say he can't stop talking. You should say hello to him, he gets lonely.
Business Administration Councillor
Hey everyone! My name is Chantal Bériault and I am a 4th year student business student honouring in Accounting and Finance. I am originally from Québec City, but have been living in Fredericton for a while now. I have always been involved in the business faculty as a peer mentor and as part of the executive of the Business Administration Undergrad Society, two roles I will continue to occupy in 2017-2018! In my spare time, I like to binge watch The Office on Netflix, play soccer or dance, and volunteer. I also love travelling and eating poutine! I am excited to help business students take advantage of all the resources available to them, as well as voicing suggestions to your Student Union. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns!
My name is Jill Pilgrim and I'm entering into my third year of Law at UNB. This will be my seventh year at the school as I also did my four year undergrad here - a BA in Psychology. This is my first involvement in the Student Union, however I spent two years on the executive of the Undergraduate Psychology Society and also acted as President for the UNB Red Brigade for 4 years. I love UNB and am excited to represent the Faculty of Law for the 2017-2018 year!
Hey everyone! My name is Perry and I am honoured to have been elected your Arts Councillor for 2017/18. Home is a moving target for me. Currently my parents live in Cambridge, Nova Scotia thus making the Annapolis Valley home. That said, I have considered Fredericton home since moving here in 2011; now live in a quaint apartment on the south-side with my beautiful kitty Faye. Academically, my studies are diverse as I graduated in 2014 from UNB with a BA in History and am now in my third year of my second BA, this time in Psychology with a specialization in Neuroscience. This fall will also mark the third year that I have been a Peer Mentor with the Faculty of Arts and I hope to use my position in both capacities to do everything I can for the Arts students I represent. One of the major projects I hope to accomplish, with the help of other Peer Mentors and the Faculty of Arts, is to make the “Arts Matters” Undergraduate Arts Conference a regional conference where Arts students from all the Atlantic Universities can come to UNB to share and discuss ideas. I look forward to working with both the Faculty and the Student Union on other initiatives to make life at UNB even better for students. If you have questions, concerns, or you just want to talk let me know! I will be happy to oblige. Once again, thank you for choosing me to be your Arts Councillor and have an amazing 2017/18 academic year!
Hi guys! This is my second year as your Forestry and Environmental Management Representative on the UNBSU. I was born and raised in a little Acadian fishing village just outside the Cape Breton Highlands National Park called Chéticamp, on Nova Scotia’s Cape Breton Island. After graduating school, my French heritage guided me to the Université de Moncton, where I spent a year studying Civil Engineering. I transferred to UNB in my second year, and am now currently undertaking my third year of Forestry (fourth year post-secondary overall). I love being outdoors (especially in the summer), and try to spend as much time as I can in nature, doing things such as biking, hiking, and swimming at the beach. When indoors (especially in winter), I like to play volleyball, or go to the gym. My hobbies include reading novels, and listening to music older than your parents. My favourites TV shows are much too numerous to list (though Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and Westworld are up there), and my favourite movies include The Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy, Star Wars, and Indiana Jones (and many more).
Computer Science Councillor
Hello everyone! My name is Shanece and I am in my third year of electrical engineering! I come from a very small town outside of Moncton where a traffic jam usually consists of a tractor! I will be a proctor in Neville Jones this year, but I lived in Mackenzie for the past two years! This year as a councillor I really want to work with the university and council to support women in engineering! I'm always around campus and usually at head rest if you have any questions!
Hi! My name is Emily McMillan and I am a second-year student in the Faculty of Nursing. I am a talkative gal, that loves to meet new faces. You can probably find me studying, or at any local art related event. In my spare time (If I have any -haha) I like to perform poetry, seek art galleries, or hangout with my friends. My favorite color is mustard yellow and I tell a lot of bad jokes/ horrid puns.
Renaissance College Councillor
As the Renaissance College Faculty Councillor, I hope to make our small (but amazing) faculty a more prominent presence here on the hill! I hope to do so through bridging the gap between Renaissance College Society (RCS) and UNB Student Union/ other faculties, as we often carry out similar events. I am very excited to be working together with these exceptional groups and I thoroughly look forward to carrying out many successful events both off and on campus! I am in my third and final year of RC, and one day, I hope to pursue a career as a medical doctor.
If you would like to meet and discuss any ideas, I am often found at the SUB studying, so please don’t hesitate to reach out! I would love to listen and talk to you about any ideas or concerns you have!
Hi! My name is Emmanuel and I am the kinesiology representative on the UNBSU. This is my second year on UNBSU and I am in my fourth year of a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology degree. As well, I am a peer mentor and kin camp organizer for my faculty. This year I will work alongside the kinesiology society to help improve the wellbeing of the students as well as come up with fun activities throughout the year. A little about me, I am well known in my year for consuming an absurd amount of coffee on any given day. Usually you can either see me playing pickup basketball or studying. One last point about me; I have had the tremendous pleasure of living at home with my mom at home during my undergrad.
