Role of the VP External
The Vice President External shall be the public relations officer of the Union, and shall:
(a) represent the union to national and provincial student lobby groups, as well as the local community, regarding student issues;
(b) until such time as such President returns to office or until such time as such President is appointed or elected in accordance with the provisions of these Bylaws, fulfill, or arrange for the fulfillment of, the duties of the President who, by reason of illness, family emergency, suspension in accordance with the provisions of these Bylaws, or any other reason deemed appropriate by the Council, is unable to fulfill his or her duties;
(c) subject to paragraph (c) above, oversee and work with the public and all media communications on behalf of the Union;
(e) determine and supervise coordinators and directors that fall under the jurisdiction of the External portfolio;
(f) present a report of activities undertaken on behalf of the Union at all regular meetings of the Council;
(g) report to the President;
(h) fulfill and perform those duties as may be required and or necessary to achieve Union purposes and/or objectives; and,
(i) present an annual written report, in the form prescribed by the Council from time to time, to the Council before leaving office.
