Union Positions
President
As the Union’s chief executive officer, the President manages the business of the Student Union, supervises its employees, and monitors its direction. S/he oversees the implementation of Council’s directives and communicates with the University administration, media, government, and other student associations to that end. To accommodate this demanding schedule, the President works full-time year-round and takes no more than two classes per term.

will meet with fellow student leaders to set lobbying priorities such as student loan reform, creating more spaces, or tuition freezes
might negotiate on behalf of students with the city of Fredericton

Vice President Internal
The Vice President Internal’s portfolio focuses on on-campus issues such as academics, the student life experience, and student discipline regulations. To accomplish this, the Vice President Internal acts as the official liaison between many university bodies (such as the Senate, Campus Security, and Campus Recreation) and the Student Union.

Vice President Student Services
The Vice President Student Services is one of the most visible positions of the Student Union, as s/he manages well-known services like the student health plan and SafeRide. To ensure smooth operation of these services, the position supervises Student Union employees like the Yearbook Editors, DrinkSmart Coordinator, and Event Coordinator.

Councillors
General Councillors are the primary point of contact between the faculties (e.g. Science) or special interest groups (e.g. residence students) from which they were elected. This means that the General Councillors are responsible for representing the interests of their constituencies, and the interests of students at large, at Student Council meetings. While General Councillors are not employees of the Student Union, their efforts are rewarded with an honorarium.

Board of Governors Representative (2 seats)
The UNB Board of Governors is the highest governing body of the University of New Brunswick, comprising a total of 34 voting and 10 non-voting members. It sets long-term strategic goals for the University and controls all aspects of its activity. Members include the President and the Chancellor of the University, elected alumni and alumnae representatives, and community members appointed by the Lieutenant Governor.
