Strax
Strax is a social justice and student power group operating on the campus of the University of New Brunswick and St. Thomas University. In the long term, Strax seeks to achieve a world free of war, oppression, and hierarchy. In the short term, Strax fights against racism, sexism, homophobia, and other forms of oppression on campus; against the corporatization and militarization of our schools; for a university which provides nutritious food, effective social services, and which aims to drastically reduce or abolish tuition; and for a university that is united, independent, and which serves the interests of the wider community, rather than those of wealthy elites and state authorities. In struggling against the forces that diminish the value - and obscure the purpose - of learning, Strax intends to win.
