Off-Campus Housing
For a quick guide to living off campus, check out the Good Neighbours Strong Neighbourhoods brochure. The pamphlet was compiled by the Mayor's Working Committee on Community/University Relations.
If you'll be renting a place this year, a great first step is to check out the Off-Campus Handbook. The handbook covers everything from finding a place to live and your rights and responsibilities, to how to throw a party while maintaining control, so it's a must read for any student living off campus.
If you're moving into a new place, you may also want to consider having a Fire and Life Safety Inspection done if you are concerned about your dwelling. It will be much less of a hassle to have this done early rather than having your place deemed unsafe in the middle of the school year, sending you searching for a new home.
