Government and Community

A big part of what the UNB Student Union does is represent the voice of full-time undergraduates in the community, the province, and the country. In order to do this, we partner with various groups and committees to help make the changes we want to see happen. To see some of the current government programs for financial aid, click here.

In Fredericton

In the community, the VP External, Brad, sits on the Mayor's Working Committee on Community/University relations. It is through this committee that we hope to create a better relationship with the city, and to make sure that we have a forum to voice any concerns that we might have, as well as to hear concerns the community has about students.

In New Brunswick

At the provincial level, the UNB Student Union is a member of the New Brunswick Student Alliance. The NBSA is a student lobby group that has been campaigning for issues that are applicable to the students of New Brunswick for over 20 years, and allows student leaders from all over the province to come together on issues, and bring them to the attention of the provincial government.

In Canada

Nationally, we are represented by the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations. CASA is an alliance of student associations from across the country which seeks to provide unified representation to the national and inter-provincial levels of government.
